Schuifzeiloplegger (Tautliner)
These trailers are highly suitable for transporting bales of plastic or paper, big bags, rolls, timber packs, steel and pallet goods.
A major benefit of a tautliner is the ability to load or unload cargo from multiple sides.
How does it work?
These lightweight trailers can be used to transport all kinds of loads, with the exception of bulk cargo. They can handle full truck loads (FTL) of course, but are also very suitable for partial loads.
Both sides can be opened quickly and the top can slide open as well, making it possible to load from above if desired.
The trailers feature multiple anchor points, allowing loads to be lashed down securely. Our drivers also carry various additional items to help ensure that loads are delivered safely and without damage. Examples include corner protectors, cribbing blocks and anti-slip mats.
DTC uses these trailers mainly to transport bales of plastic or paper, big bags, rolls, timber packs, steel and pallet goods. In this sense, the tautliner’s and walking floor’s applications overlap.
One benefit of a tautliner is the ability to inspect the cargo on all sides before unloading. Particularly for paper recycling, this can be desirable. In addition, these trailers are a good choice for loads that must remain strictly clean and dry during transit.
